Photo permit: No permit needed, only prior approval on date and time from the venue – I have exclusive access as a preferred vendor there. Photo sessions must be scheduled around weddings, and dates can be requested 60 days in advance. The venue is typically closed June - early Sept.

Photo permit: $25 paid to the Glendale Historical Society Zelle in advance. Proof of payment must be shown on premises when asked. Be mindful of the irrigation schedule.

Queen Creek Olive Mill

Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch

Boyce Thompson Arboretum
Location: 37615 E Arboretum Way, Superior, AZ 85173
Photo permit: $50 permit paid for on-site, $25 per adult for admission
Best green: Fall colors in December, lots of plants including in greenhouses that are gorgeous year-round. These photos were taken in November.
Sahuaro Ranch Park
Location: 9802 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ
Photo permit: $25 paid ahead of time to the Glendale Historical Society online, check blackout dates
Best green: year-round palm trees and small citrus groves (these photos were taken in May)
Agritopia Farm
Location: 3000 E Ray Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85296
Photo permit: $125 for use of both the orchard and garden areas, paid in advance online
Best green: Orchard trees look green year-round, but the leaves in the garden are seasonal (May-December)
Japanese Friendship Garden
Location: 1125 N 3rd Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85003
Photo permit: $300 for one hour (exclusive access, garden is otherwise closed to the public), sessions only available on Mondays, reserved in advance online
Best green: Most trees here are evergreen, and grass is carefully maintained year-round
Arizona Snowbowl /Aspen Corner
Location: 9300 N Snow Bowl Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001
Photo permit: No permit needed, extra travel session fees apply to this location
Best green: fall colors in October, bare trees and snow Nov-March (first two photos taken in Aug, third in Oct)

Sweet Flower Home Fields
Location: 20212 W Broadway Rd, Buckeye, AZ 85326
Photo permit: $65 with no time limit, reserved in advance through the owners
Best green: Depends on the season and can change year to year — broccoli, wheat (April/May), onion, cauliflower (March/April), sunflower (Oct - most popular!) and corn fields rotating. Check on their social media to see what's currently planted and growing!
