Mikayla and Jimmy bravely took on the challenge of hosting their wedding celebration at a non-venue: Jimmy's parents' backyard. They spent over a year prepping their already green, spacious property to accommodate their guests, and the results were beyond amazing. They were married under an arbor surrounded by over 100 citrus trees and adjacent to an overflowing garden full of various fruits and veggies (a definite point of pride for Jimmy's parents as they showed me around more than once!).
If there's anything I've learned from years of working backyard gigs, it's that you absolutely have to have amazing people in your corner to successfully pull it off. Not only did their family and friends show up ten-fold to assist, but they had a great wedding planner in Diana Catherine Weddings. Going this route alone will 100% zap the magic out of these intimate celebrations and put so much unnecessary stress on you (and your guests will feel it too).
